Recap of 2007

I saw Live Free or Die Hard and loved it...much like I love all the other Die Hard movies...and I guess I love them in the order in which they came out. With Die Hard being my favorite and Live Free or Die Hard being my fourth favorite.

I continue to watch House, CSI, ER, and The Office with regularity and have also enjoyed Last One Standing and Project Runway. Looking forward to American Gladiators 2008!!!

A couple of favorite books I read in 2007 include Life of Pi, Animal Dreams, Coyote, and The dogs who found me. I am currently reading a book I received from Steve and Mari for Christmas last year...but haven't finished it yet...so it will have to go on next year's recap.

Favorite New Artists would be Paolo Nutini, Jack's Mannequin, and Grace Potter and The Nocturnals.

We went a lot of places and did a lot of cool things in 2007. We saw the Indigo Girls in concert twice (two nights in a row...first in Dallas, then in Austin).

We attended the Austin City Limits Music Festival and saw Paolo Nutini, Steve Earle, The Indigo Girls, and others. We can't wait to go again!

We went camping at Greenleaf State Park in Oklahoma with our friend Cookie and had a great time.

We attended The Police concert at American Airlines Center with Brian and Lyndsae in celebration of Bri's birthday.

In sporting news, Kevin Garnett was traded to the Celtics, Torii Hunter signed with the Angels, and the Vikings missed the playoffs....again. However, the Vikings did manage to make their draft picks on time and ended up with STUD Adrian Peterson.

We had several family additions to include Wyatt Gene, born 08/07; Kadence Claire, born 08/07; Pablo Ruiz and Nina Ruiz born 11/07; and two foreign exchange students. Hathaipat Aimpichaimongkol (Hui) from Thailand and Mai Ngoc Hoang (Mai) from Vietnam arrived in Minnesota in August 2007. (Photos can be seen in previous post. Meet Pablo and Nina at http://www.esseffbee.blogspot.com/)

We entertained many houseguests in 2007. My parents in February and again in July; Case in March; Bill and Sarah in May; and Cookie in September! We are looking for more visitors in 2008!

2007 wasn't all Vikings victories and Fresh Strawberry Pie....we had our share of troubles as well.

Our cat, Echo, passed away in February.

Our dog, Valentine, was struck by a car and broke her elbow in November. This required orthopedic surgery and she is still recovering.

Our lawnmower broke for the last time. Our dryer broke and we became reacquainted with laundromats. Our air conditioner broke.

Other 2007 events include Lisa and I both accepting new jobs; I bought a new car (and said goodbye to my first car that was near and dear to my heart)

Best of all, Lisa and I still love each other very much and we celebrated our 8th Christmas together in 2007.
